MEET THE ARTIST NIKI DE SAINT PHALLE…

Niki de Saint Phalle was a French filmmaker and sculptor-painter, best known for her sculptural female figures: the Nanas.

In her artistic career, she paired courageous, jubilant female forms and caricatures with dark and disturbing material.

Throughout his career, she has continually disrupted long-standing conventions in art. Her iconoclastic approach to her identity and society at large made her an early and important voice for both the feminist movement and the development of conceptual art.

Painting calmed the chaos that shook my soul. – Niki de Saint Phalle
