Astor Piazzolla

11th March, 1921 (Mar del Plata, Argentina) – 4th July, 1992 (Buenos Aires, Argentina)

We designed an Executive Room to celebrate Astor Piazzolla. The room has a bathtub and the possibility of a double or twin bed.

The musician and dancer is represented in this room through details such as the panel on the wall and the bandoneón, a kind of accordion. The warm tones of the room represent Tango, the musical style played by the artist. An extraordinary room category in the most artistic hotel in Porto.

Astor Piazzolla - Torel Avantgarde

As a surrealist in the 1930s, he created truly innovative sculptural forms, which sometimes resembled toys and games. As an existentialist, after the war he led the way in creating a style that epitomized philosophy’s interests in perception, alienation, and anxiety. He is remembered for his figurative work, which helped make the suffering human figure motif a popular symbol of post-war trauma.

Some of his Main Works:

Tall Figure
Spoon Woman
The Palace at 4 AM

Artistic Movements: Expressionism, Contemporary Art, Surrealism, Cubism, Modern Art.

“It is impossible to do a thing the way I see it because the closer I get the more differently I see.” – Alberto Giacometti
